Location: Gorgeous boutique hotel near the sea in Denia, Alicante.

Getting fit and healthy doesn’t just mean spending hours sweating away in a gym! Our Yoga & Fitness retreat holidays make the most of the beautiful Spanish climate as we’ll be taking some of this programme into the great outdoors to boost the ‘feel good’ factor of exercising outside in gorgeous, sunny weather.

Join us for daily body loving yoga, core strength Pilates, creative body toning & cardio boost sessions, a 12k ‘cobweb blowing’ (flat) coastal hike and an easy bike ride along country tracks. And, when you’re ready for a little R&R, the beautiful sandy beach is a short hop away or, you can spend your free time relaxing with therapies or exploring gorgeous boutiques nearby. What’s not to love about this retreat ?!  And don’t worry, you won’t have to be super fit to join us as our instructors are here to inspire you to find your boundaries .. not push you beyond them.

Your Accommodation

Based at a beautiful little boutique hotel an hour north of Alicante in the historical old town of Denia – the original heart of the town and a short walk to the sea. The hotel was once a grand family home owned by a wealthy raisin merchant before being lovingly converted into a stylish boutique hotel. The Spanish owners are an incredibly creative couple – artist, photographer, interior designer & Ayurvedic chef – and they’ve used these talents when creating this beautiful hotel. It’s a fantastic example of creativity and sympathetic design using their Feng Shui & design skills to renovate this beautiful house into a calm little oasis, perfect for our retreat.

All 16 ensuite rooms are double or twin bedded and superbly equipped with air-conditioning, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries, fresh towels, TV, safety deposit, a daily maid service & free WiFi. As we don’t expect nor ask our guests to share, all rooms are available for single use for a reasonable extra £75 for the entire holiday.

The Yoga

The boat yoga fitness asanaThe daily yoga sessions combine the deep stretches of Hatha with the warming flow of Vinyasa together with deeply restorative Yin Yoga postures. Morning yoga sessions focus on synchronising your breath with simple vinyasa sequences to warm the body, stretch muscles and open joints allowing your practice to feel like a moving flow linked to the breath. Evening sessions will help us unwind from the day using a mixture of relaxing postures that we hold a little longer to allow ourselves to go deeper within and connect with the source of our being. Deep bliss.

The yoga will be suitable for keen beginners, those with a lapsed practice & intermediate yogis. Our teaching style is precise but relaxed. There’s no pressure to create perfect yoga postures, what’s more important to us is that you pay attention to how the yoga ‘feels’ in your body. Likewise there’s no room for ego as it’s not what we’re about. It doesn’t matter what other people are doing around you, just work with what you have. Be patient, keep practicing and your body will open up & let you back in.

Interval Training & Cardio Boost Sessions

To complement the deep stretches of the yoga programme, our personal trainer has devised a creative, fun series of interval training sessions to boost your cardio fitness and develop muscle tone. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own level, you choose a pace that suits your strength & stamina. As there will be no more than 12 guests, these sessions offer our trainers the opportunity to give personal coaching tips too. Our plan is to take these sessions outdoors – quiet, private spots – to make the most of the beautiful Spanish weather and scenery.

Yoga & Fitness Programme Overview

Wake up slowly in the courtyard garden sipping a cup of refreshing herbal tea & fresh fruits before your day begins by opening up your body in a Yoga or Pilates session in the hotel’s light filled studio overlooking the courtyard.  Then, feeling awake & vibrant, time now for a delicious healthy buffet breakfast before we head off on the day’s inspiring fitness activity – coastal walk, body toning or bike ride – making the most of the gorgeous weather before returning to the hotel to relax, head to the beach or enjoy some pampertastic therapies! Late afternoon we’ll regroup for an evening wind down yoga session & supper before bed.

All activities are optional, it’s your holiday so do what you wish. You’ll be encouraged to go at a pace suitable for you. Remember, our instructors are here to inspire you to challenge your boundaries, not push you beyond them.

*Our private airport transfer service.

Operates from/to Alicante airport. Pick up on arrival will be between 11am-13.00 & arrive at airport on final day for midday.  Transfers take 75 minutes & cost €40 per person each way.  Check your flight options to Alicante here.

Please ensure your flight arrives no later than 12.15 on arrival day & departs no earlier than 13.30 on departure day to allow time to clear customs & collect your luggage.

Flights outside of our transfer service we are happy to book a private taxi  for you or book you on a resort ‘hopper’ shuttle bus service from/to the airport.
